Vinyasa - Yin - Tantra
Vinyasa, Yin and Tantra Yoga are distinct styles: Vinyasa is a dynamic, flowing practice linking breath with movement, while Yin is a slow, passive style holding poses longer to target deep tissues. Tantra yoga is a holistic path to self-discovery that integrates different practices.
Vinyasa yoga
A dynamic, fluid, active style of yoga, often called "flow" yoga. Links breath with movement, creating a rhythmic, dance-like sequence of poses. Builds strength, flexibility by moving fluidly from one pose to the next, often in a "one breath, one movement" approach.
Best for: Those looking for a cardiovascular workout and a way to build strength and flexibility.
Yin yoga
A slow, passive, and meditative style of yoga.
Poses are held for extended periods (3-5 minutes or longer) to allow the body to relax deeply into the present. Targets the deep connective tissues of the ligaments, joints, fascia, and bones, rather than the muscles.
Best for: Improving joint mobility, increasing flexibility, promoting relaxation.
Tantra yoga
A holistic path focused on self-discovery & empowerment. Can be integrated with physical practices like Vinyasa, using the physical movements to facilitate transformation and spiritual awakening. Aims to create space and freedom for the mind and body, going beyond just the physical asana to address deeper patterns and consciousness.
Best for: Those seeking a more spiritual transformative practice that goes beyond the physical & emotional benefits of other yoga styles.
