Tantra and Holistic Bodywork
Tantra literally means “instrument for expanding consciousness”—from the ordinary to the extraordinary, with self-realization as the ultimate goal. The word is composed of the Sanskrit words “Tan” (to expand) and “Tra” (instrument).
Tantra encompasses all aspects of life, including needs and desires, as expressions of life’s beauty. It is an ancient practice from India. Instead of rejecting worldly or physical desires, Tantra utilizes life energy and sensory energy to expand consciousness, connect our life force with universal energy, strengthen the body, and integrate mindfulness into all aspects of life. A holistic approach to life that views the body as a temple, a return to natural joy. Tantra encourages us to embrace the innate intelligence of our bodies, reconnect with our senses, and fully experience the present moment.

Tantra massages are sensual, powerful, yet gentle, joyful, heart-opening, and promote overall well-being. Rooted in ancient Tantric philosophy, this practice views the body as a temple and uses sensual and conscious touch and breath to expand awareness, balance energy, and awaken life force. The focus is on connecting the physical body with the energetic being to release tension and foster self-awareness, natural joy, and unconditional self-love.
- ENERGY & BODYWORK MASSAGE – The focus is on energy flow and the release of tension. It is based on the premise that emotional, mental, and physical stress are stored in the body and in an “energy field” surrounding the body. The method works directly with the body’s energy centers and pathways to release stagnant energy. Gentle touch as well as more vigorous movements are used to restore balance and promote the body’s natural self-healing abilities. Intuition fosters an understanding and sensitivity of the client’s energetic state, thus guiding the treatment. This refers to a highly developed intuition and body awareness that perceives even the subtlest signals and nonverbal tensions. Energetic blockages become conscious to the client, and the energy work releases tension within the body.
- TRAUMA MASSAGE THERAPY – Is a somatic, trauma-sensitive form of massage, also known as trauma-informed energy work, that heals the connection between body and mind by releasing physical tension and regulating the nervous system. This release of “stored trauma” can reduce stress and hyperarousal, leading to a clearer, more grounded state, while simultaneously bringing repressed experiences into the client’s conscious awareness. Intuition fosters understanding and sensitivity to the client’s emotional state, thus guiding the treatment. This is generally understood as highly developed intuition and body awareness that perceives even the subtlest signals and nonverbal tensions.
These massages lead to deep relaxation, a pronounced sense of well-being and self-discovery, as well as the reduction of tension and stress.
What is Tantra and Advaita?
Ahamprema Yoga & Meditation
- TANTRA YOGA – Tantra Yoga is s a practice originating in India that seeks spiritual liberation through connection with inner energy and the universe. It integrates physical postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), mantras (sacred sound syllables), japa (the repetitive recitation of a mantra), yantra (sacred geometric diagram), and meditation to foster a deeper connection between body, mind, and spirit. Tantra Yoga is not just a physical practice, but a path to holistic well-being that supports spiritual growth, stress reduction, and self-realization.
- YOGA & MEDITATION by Ahamprema Calpe – Vinyasa Yoga, Vinyasa energy flow is a dynamic yoga style that links fluid movement with breath to build internal heat and boost vitality. By moving continuously between poses, it relieves tension and awakens the body, incorporating energizing standing postures, backbends, and strong core activations. Yin Yoga, a meditative practice that targets deep connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, and joints). By holding passive poses for 3 minutes, it gently stimulates the body’s energy channels, releasing blockages and allowing life force to flow, promoting physical and emotional balance. Meditation practices from the Tantric approach, such as Yantra, Mantra, Japa , Pranayama meditation, and from the Advaita approach, meditating on pure awareness and Self-inquiry.
- ADVAITA & TANTRA – Advaita and Tantra are distinct yet deeply interconnected paths within the Indian spiritual tradition, often synthesized to accelerate self-realization. While Advaita provides the non-dual philosophy (all is one), Tantra offers the tools, including Yoga, Energy work, Mantra, Pranayama, and Meditation, to experience that oneness directly.
- ADVAITA & SELF-INQUIRY – It is the meditative practice of looking inward to observe, contemplate, and dissolve the false sense of ego. Instead of answering with the mind, one focuses entirely on the inner feeling of “I.” One constantly directs the question “Who am I?” inward to recognize what this “I” truly is. This helps to realize that one’s true nature is pure consciousness.
